15th Annual Clay County Chili Cook-Off Set for Oct. 10

Bring your appetite to the 15th Annual Clay County Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at the Historic Clay County Courthouse Square in Celina.
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and will feature plenty of homemade chili, friendly competition, prizes and family fun. Visitors can purchase a $5 sampling bowl and taste their way through the cook-off while helping support the event.
Cooks will compete for cash prizes, including $500 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place. A People’s Choice Award of $250 will also be presented, along with a $50 prize for Best Decorated Booth.
The day will also include the always-popular Cow Patty Contest, sponsored by the Cattlemen’s Association.
Anyone interested in entering the chili cook-off is encouraged to bring their best recipe and join the competition. For information about how to enter, call 931-243-3467.
Visitors coming to Clay County for the Chili Cook-Off can also make a day or weekend of their trip by exploring local shops, restaurants, attractions and beautiful Dale Hollow Lake.
