DESCRIPTION:Honest Abe Log Homes invites you to visit its National Headquarters in Moss\, Tenn.\, on Saturday\, Jan. 28\, 2023\, for a Log Raising and Manufacturing Tour. \nThe event begins at 9 a.m. with a Log Raising\, during which members of the Honest Abe team assemble a small structure\, showing and describing the process of building an Honest Abe Log Home. \nThe guided tour of the manufacturing plant includes the state-of-the art mill\, kilns and log storage units. \nDuring and after a complimentary lunch guests may spend time with drafting professionals and new home consultants as they learn how log cabins and timber frame homes are designed\, financed and more. \nThe event is held in a climate-controlled building at the Honest Abe Log Homes National Headquarters manufacturing complex on U.S. Hwy. 52\, 10 miles west of Celina and approximately 25 miles east of Lafayette in the Clay County\, Tennessee\, community of Moss. \nMasks are optional. Social distancing will not be practiced. On the farm you will see implements ranging from the 1800’s to present day machines. You are able to step back and appreciate how hard our families worked to leave the legacy they have and see how our technology’s have taken farming to a whole different level. \n​After the tour is over\, you will step off the bus and be ready to shop\, explore and most importantly\, eat! It is nothing short of remarkable\, different artisan’s and unique vendors displaying a wide range of products and special finds all in one perfect location. Antique shops bring things you can only wish to have and folks who take honey or milks and other elements from their farms and turn it into incredible goods you just can’t help but buy. Not to mention\, the food\, it is amazing. There are no two alike\, with an assortment from home cooked comfort foods to hamburgers and BBQ and if that isn’t enough\, we have ice cream\, we have homemade macaroons\, we have fresh baked breads and cupcakes\, we have jellies and salsas\, we simply have it all. While you are shopping and eating with us\, we want you to truly enjoy yourselves\, listen to the live music and just take everything in we have to offer. We also offer a farm to table dinner where we gather and harvest from local farmers. A variety of meats and produce are taken and prepared just for you. We take the proceeds from the dinner and give back to the community through our local Young Farmers and Ranchers organization. \n​We started the barn sale with hope of bringing people together and displaying countless items where there is something for everyone to enjoy. DESCRIPTION:National Public Lands Day Events:  Volunteers are needed to help clean up the shoreline Dale Hollow Lake Sept. 24\, 2022.  Show your appreciation for our nation’s public lands and Dale Hollow Lake by joining in the annual Fall Lakeshore Cleanup. This event is held the last Saturday of each September. \nRegistration begins at 8 a.m.\, and trash bags will be provided. The cleanup is held in cooperation with the Friends of Dale Hollow Lake\, Inc. \nFor detailed information and specific dates on Dale Hollow Lake special events contact the Resource Manager’s Office at (931) 243-3136 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. CST.
