DESCRIPTION:Standing Stone State Park will host the National Rolley Hole Marbles Championship and Festival on Saturday\, September 13\, 2025\, drawing some of the country’s best players to Tennessee where they will match wit and skills in what is known as the Super Bowl of marbles. In its 42nd year\, this year’s event will include: World Class Marble Competitions\, Marble Making Exhibits & Demonstrations\, Marble Vendors & Swap Meet\, Kids Marble Games & Festival\, Food\, Music Festival\, and much more. Admission to the event is FREE! Fun for all ages! Marble play begins at 8 am (CST). Music starts at 10 am (CST). \nThis one-of-a-kind in the world event\, known to many as “the world’s most challenging marble tournament\, where only the finest players in the world dare to compete”\, attracts players from different states and countries each year and has been featured by ESPN\, ABC Evening News\, Sports Illustrated\, Charles Kuralt and CBS\, the Smithsonian Institution\, CNN\, National Geographic\, Southern Living magazine and even on Charles Schulz’s “Peanuts. \nThe game of marbles is an ancient and universal pastime and Rolley Hole is a folk game similar to croquet. It will be played by the rules of the National Rolley Hole Marbles Championship\, on a dirt yard that measures 40-by-25 feet. Please RSVP by Dec. 18 \nAround 315 students from CCHS 9-12 grades as well as around 85 8th graders from Celina K-8 and Hermitage Springs School will be attending. With a $150 entry fee per boat\, participants will be vying for a generous $5\,500 payout\, based on 40 boats registering. In addition\, there will be special prizes for the largest catches of the day: \n\n$250 for the biggest smallmouth bass\n$250 for the biggest largemouth bass\n\nThis tournament is sponsored by the Clay County Chamber Partnership\, Clay County Tourism\, the City of Celina and Clay Powersports. \nTo fuel up for a great day of fishing\, a food truck will begin serving breakfast as early as 4:30 AM. The tournament kicks off with a safelight blast-off in the morning\, and the final weigh-in will take place at 3 PM.
